The statue of Our Lady of Peace [then and now]
Dublin Core
Title
The statue of Our Lady of Peace [then and now]
Description
It was the idea of Bishop Colombert that the statue of Monsignor Pigneau should be installed. Not until March 1902, the bronze statue of Monsignor Pigneau was established in the memory of this bishop by a French sculptor. The statue was removed afterwards during the August Revolution of 1945 and replaced by the current Virgin Mary statue by the Italian sculptor Giuseppe Ciocchetti in February 1959 (Doling 2016).
