North Vietnam 1 dong banknote in 1958

This 200 dong banknote was produced in 1958 by National Bank of Vietnam (North Vietnam). There is no signature authentification and watermark on the banknote. The serial number is HW 030348. On the obverse (front side), the banknote contains the denomination (1 dong by word: “MỘT ĐỒNG”), the serial number, the bank name, the name of the government “Democratic Republic of Vietnam”, the coat of arms of North Vietnam, and the main image which is the flag tower in Hanoi (the victory symbol of North Vietnam in front of French colonialists). On the back side, the banknote includes the dominations “MỘT ĐỒNG” (1 dong) by word, the denomination by number on both sides of the banknote, the year of publication which is 1958, and the main iconography which is work in a paddy field.

The banknote was reused by the US Military Assistance Command in Vietnam (Saigon) as propaganda leaflet counterfeit in 1958 and 1965 later on for delivering reverse messages toward the North Vietnam government and their citizens.
