The Great Seal of France depicts the Goddess of Liberty with a fasces (symbol of justice and power) in her right hand, and her left hand is put on a ship's tiller.
On her right side, there is a sheaf of wheat (agriculture), a burning lamp (enlightenment/education), a cogwheel (industry/science), a paint palette (art), and one Ionic column (architecture)
On her left side, there is a vase with the letters S.U (acronym for "suffrage universel"), a Gallic rooster, and a branch of oak.
The text on the seal is "Republique Francaise Democratique Une et Indivisible" (English translation: "French Republic, democratic, one and indivisible").
The Great Seal of France was modified and put on coins of French Indochina.
