Description
In 1882: A “Telegraphe et Poste” or “Telegraph Wired Department” was established.
The building was first opened on January 13th, 1863, but later, the building was rebuilt by French architects, A. Villedieu and A. Foulhox, from 1886 to 1891 (Corfield 2013, 248–50).
With its location compared to the map of Saigon in the 19th century, Saigon Central Post Office was located between Rue De Hong Kong and Rue Thabert, alongside with other important buildings such as Place De la Cathedral (Saigon Notre Dame).
