Description
The building was designed by the French architect Félix Dumaill, and it was constructed between 1923 and 1929. The building was built by Indochina Bank, helping manage finance and issuing currency in Indochina at that time. The building maintained the name Saigon Banque de l'Indochine from 1930 to 1957. It was later renamed the National Bank of Vietnam South Republic from 1957 to April 30, 1975. From 1976 to the present, the building has been owned by the communist government of Vietnam and is named State Bank of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City branch.
