Title

Stylé Indochinois

Description

Stylé Indochinois, translated as Indochinese Style, is a delicate yet outstanding combination between the nostalgia of the East Asian tradition and the modern and romantic French architecture. During more than 80 years of domination, the French imposed changes of political and cultural significance to Vietnamese society. Vietnam was influenced by France in many cultural aspects, including architecture, cuisine, religion, fashion, and art. Even after the first and second Indochina war, those influences remained and became known as the Indochine style. They acknowledge the local architectural traditions and the prevailing climatic conditions of the area.
