Lotus

Description

The lotus plant plays an important role in the Vietnamese people's lives and culture. The lotus tree embodies the personality and temperament of the gentleman's soul. It is simple, elegant, and extremely delicate. The lotus plant grows in mud but rises strongly to absorb sunlight's vitality without becoming tarnished. When it comes to lotus plants, every Vietnamese person must be familiar with the proverb: "Nothing beats a lotus in a pond. It is close to the mud but does not stink of it." The lotus remains pretty and pure, although it grows and lives among the mud. The lotus is also commonly seen in Vietnamese daily life. The unique feature is that all parts of the lotus plant can be processed into traditional Vietnamese dishes such as lotus root salad, lotus jam, lotus tea, lotus porridge, sticky rice lotus, lotus longan tea, lotus chrysanthemum tea, lotus wine, lotus seeds, lotus candy., etc. The lotus stalks have been researched by the elite artist Phan Thi Thuan in order to create one of the world's most expensive and unique lotus silk scarves.
