A Vietnamese national hero who commanded Dai Viet military forces in the Tran dynasty and defeated Yuan and Mongol invaders three times in the late 13th century. Tran Hung Dao is famous for being one of the greatest military commanders in Vietnam, especially the successful victory over Mongol invasions in the battle of Bach Dang River in the late 13th century.
